Beyond Vietnam

"These are the times for real choices and not false ones. We are at the moment
when our lives must be placed on the line if our nation is to survive its own
folly. Every man of humane convictions must decide on the protest that best
suits his convictions, but we must all protest."

While doing some research today, I came across this magnificently poignant and prescient speech delivered by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., on April 4, 1967. It got me to thinking…hmmmm just juxtaposed Vietnam with Iraq. The more things change in Iraq, the more they stay the same. Isn't that the truth? While George Bush stubbornly stay the cause in a fiasco that is getting worse. If the cause is so noble why hasn’t the Bush twins enlist to fight their father’s war? Or why didn’t daddy ‘o encourage them to do so?
